Who is Jeremy?
Jeremy Rashad Brown is a Black multidisciplinary filmmaker, theatre-maker, community builder, and mental health advocate based in Austin, TX, who is passionate about using art to drive social change. Central to his work is Reggie Rap’s Room, an innovative initiative that combines multimedia art, storytelling, and music to explore mental health and social-emotional development within Black and Brown communities. This project has gained significant recognition, including a self-care music activation at SXSW EDU 2024 and the Black Creator & Artist Meet-Up at SXSW 2024.
Jeremy is also the founder of Brown Boy Productions, an entertainment production house dedicated to amplifying the voices of historically marginalized communities. Through this venture, he produces work that challenges societal norms, fosters identity exploration, and advocates for emotional expression and self-care.
In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Jeremy shares his expertise as a guest lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin and has performed on prestigious stages like The Zach Theatre and The Kennedy Performing Arts Center. He holds leadership roles in several organizations, including Survive2Thrive Foundation and The VORTEX Repertory.
